Movie & Panel Discussion: Upcycling Culture
Saturday 14th November 13:30 - 15:00 @ FASHIONCLASH Festival 2026
Join the screening of Hidden Cultures x Kantamanto Social Club short documentary on waste colonialism and creative upcycling during FASHIONCLASH Festival 2026 at The Social Hub in Maastricht.
The movie will be followed by a panel discussion to reimagine the fate of our clothing with Daan Sonnemans (Remade In, Kantamanto Social Club), Jayden van der Meulen (RD4) and upcycling fashion designer TBD. The talk will be moderated by fashion activist Tena Lavrenčic (Thinking Threads).
This FREE event has been organized by KINKLEID with the support of Gemeente Maastricht, Maastricht University and the FASHIONCLASH team.

Behind KINKLEID
KINKLEID is an independent studio led by Cristina Palacios. For each project, we bring together the relevant partners from our network of researchers, designers, educators and makers.
With KINKLEID, Cristina opens a space for honest reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue, bringing scientific insight and systems thinking into the creative space, and contributing to a just transition through creative dissemination.
The name KINKLEID (pronounced /ˈkɪn.klaɪ̯t/) combines: KIN- referring to community, care, and connection; with -KLEID, the German word for “dress.” It alludes to our belief that only by supporting kind, collaborative practices that respect both people and planet can we build truly sustainable futures for textiles, and other disciplines.
